Tesla Camping Adventure: Testing the New AC-Tent

This weekend, I took a leap into the world of Tesla camping with the new AC-Tent from OtriFowd. The tent promises to transform your Tesla into a cozy space for up to six people, complete with air conditioning and entertainment options. I was skeptical about camping, but I was ready to see if this setup could change my mind.

Before hitting the road, I made sure to pack all the essentials for a successful camping trip. Here’s what I brought:

• Garbage Bags: To keep the area clean.
• Window Sun Shade: For privacy and to block sunlight.
• Portable Vacuum: To clean up any mess.
• Power Inverter: To charge devices.
• FlexiHub: A retractable USB-C and lightning cable hub.
• Camping Basics: Food, snacks, bug spray, flashlights, first aid kit, games, folding chairs, and a trunk organizer.
• Air Mattress and Pillows: For a good night’s sleep.

I also installed the FullShade 2.0 retractable sun shades before leaving, which would help block out sunlight and provide privacy while we camped.

Once we arrived at the campground, it was time to set up the AC-Tent. The installation video suggested it would take about 20 minutes, but I quickly realized it might take longer than expected. The frame was attached to the tent, which made it a bit cumbersome. Plus, I discovered a missing screw and nut, which meant a quick trip to the store to grab replacements. Thankfully, a fellow camper lent me a hammer to secure the stakes into the ground.

As night fell, I plugged in the Tesla and activated Camp Mode. This feature allows you to power electronics and maintain the cabin temperature while you sleep. The touchscreen stays on, so you can enjoy music, browse the internet, or even play games.

I brought along my portable projector for a movie night, which was a hit! The tent stayed cool throughout the night, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the battery only dropped about 15% by morning.

The next morning, it was time to pack up. Disassembling the tent was easier than I expected, and I learned that I could leave the aluminum rods attached for quicker setup next time. Overall, the camping experience was a success!

I was impressed with the AC-Tent. It provided a comfortable and spacious environment, and the ability to use the Tesla’s AC made a huge difference. The tent is portable enough to keep in the car without taking up too much space.

However, the instructions could use some improvement. The included guide was a bit confusing, and I had to rely on a video for clarity. But once I got the hang of it, I felt ready for my next camping adventure.
